Why it's built this way
Higher weekly volume (toward the upper end of ~10-20 hard sets per muscle) tends to produce more hypertrophy in trained ranges, and spreading it across 2-3 sessions per week lets each muscle be trained more frequently. Moderate loads and rep ranges grow muscle well when sets are taken close to failure. Volume should be built up gradually to stay recoverable.
